interactive light-system, City West, Bochum, Germany

Extent and intensity of the accompanying light is coordinated with the speed of the single pedestrian.
A running person will generate a larger "corona" than a walker and the latter will again have more light than a resting person. This is neccessary in regard to security, but functions also as input for the generating of patterns, which interprets walking speed in terms of frequency.
In case the bridge is moderately visited, the coronas of pedestrians passing each other will interfere in frequencies of additive character, whereas more than 10 persons will cause the acompanying lights to switch to groups and to create subtractive patterns when interfering.
